Acceptable Use Policy

The Platform is a resource dedicated to advancing scientific and public health research. Your use of the Platform must be legal, ethical, and respectful of the rights and integrity of the Platform, its operators, and its user community. This AUP is designed to protect the Platform's resources, reputation, and the integrity of the scientific data it hosts.

You are strictly prohibited from engaging in the following activities:

A. Illegal, Harmful, or Offensive Use

• Using the Platform to commit, or in connection with, any criminal or civil offense under any applicable law.
• Uploading or transmitting any data that is unlawful, defamatory, harassing, abusive, fraudulent, obscene, or otherwise objectionable.
• Using the Platform to promote or incite hatred, discrimination, or violence.

B. Misuse of Data and Content

• Uploading User Data for which you do not have the full legal right, authority, and consent to use and to grant the licenses specified in our Terms and Conditions.
• Knowingly submitting false, inaccurate, or misleading data, including falsified genomic sequences or metadata.
• Using any content, data, or Results from the Platform for any purpose other than the intended Research Purposes, especially for unauthorized commercial activities or for clinical/diagnostic decision-making.
• Infringing on the Intellectual Property Rights of the Pango Network or any third party.

C. Security and System Integrity Violations

• Attempting to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Platform, its servers, or any other systems or networks connected to the Platform.
• Probing, scanning, or testing the vulnerability of the Platform or its underlying infrastructure without our express written permission.
• Using any device, software, or routine that interferes with the proper working of the Platform, including but not limited to, introducing any viruses, Trojan horses, worms, or other material that is malicious or technologically harmful.
• Taking any action that imposes an unreasonable or disproportionately large load on the Platform's infrastructure, such as through denial-of-service (DoS) or distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks.
• Using any automated system, such as "robots," "spiders," or "offline readers," to access the Platform in a manner that sends more request messages to the servers than a human can reasonably produce in the same period by using a conventional web browser.

You are solely responsible for your own conduct and for any User Data you submit, post, or transmit on the Platform. You are also responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account information, if applicable, and for all activities that occur under your account.

We take violations of this AUP seriously. We reserve the right to investigate any suspected violations. In our sole discretion, we may take one or more of the following actions:

• Issue a formal warning.
• Suspend your access to the Platform.
• Terminate your account and access to the Platform permanently.
• Remove or demand the removal of the offending User Data.
• Report the activity to law enforcement authorities.
• Take any other legal action we deem appropriate.

We will not be liable for any damages of any nature suffered by any user, or any third party, resulting in whole or in part from our exercise of our rights under this AUP.

If you become aware of any misuse of the Platform or any violation of this AUP, please report it to us immediately by contacting contact@pango.network. Please provide as much detail as possible to assist in our investigation.

We reserve the right to modify this AUP at any time. We will post the revised policy on this page and update the "Effective Date." Your continued use of the Platform after the posting of a revised AUP constitutes your acceptance of the new terms.
